Light strip moisture issue - Repair scheduled at Smart Maia

Hello everyone,

I also have the fogging issue on my rear light strip. After getting in touch with my dealer, I was directed to contact the Smart service center in Maia, Portugal to schedule the replacement.

Service Center Contact: Smart Portugal Service Center - Maia Location, Phone: 229 400 400

They will proceed with the replacement of the light strip. If you have the same issue, I recommend calling them to schedule your repair appointment.

Unfortunately, the light strip of the #5 seems to have issues with moisture. So far it is not clear (at least not to me) why. Here in the forum you read more and more often about the same problems. At least the replacement does not seem to be a big deal. The replacement took half a day in our case. Until now I have not seen moisture again. But a car wash is just to come, most likely next weekend. I will report. Stay positive.

You're right that this issue seems to be becoming more common among #5 owners. I've also just reported the same fogging problem on my rear light strip to Smart Portugal, and they've directed me to their service center in Maia for the replacement.

I'm glad to hear your replacement was successful and that you haven't seen the moisture return since then. The car wash test will definitely be the real proof. Please do report back after the wash — I think many of us are very curious to know how durable the repair is, especially considering the moisture likely returns after water exposure.
